Mad Maiden Shrub

MAD MAIDEN SHRUB is a full-strength drinking vinegar that starts with organic apples from Wisconsin orchards.
It makes a refreshing soft drink, aperitif or digestif when mixed at a ratio of 1 part shrub to 4 parts sparkling or still water and served over ice.
Feel free to add honey, stevia, maple syrup or cane sugar and a dash of salt.

1 oz Mad Maiden Honey Ginger Shrub
3 oz Old Sugar Factory Honey Liqueur
1 tsp Great Lakes Amerique 1912 Absinthe Verte
1 dropperful of Bittercube Bolivar Bitters
Top off with:
Club Soda
Meyer Lemon or Lime Wedge

Green Owl ·Apricot Stone Sour·
1 1/2 Jigger Apricot Brandy
1/2 Jigger Mad Maiden Honey Ginger Vinegar
1/2 Jigger Triple Sec
Top with: fresh Orange Juice
Pour in rocks glass
Pour into shaker
Sugar the rim
Pour back into glass

·Ahoy Matey·
1 oz Mad Maiden Honey Ginger Shrub Vinegar
2 oz Coconut Drink or Coconut Soda
1 3/4 oz Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
dropperful of Bittercube Jamaican #2 Bitters Pour in glass over ice

·Moscato Punch·
1 part Mad Maiden Honey Ginger Shrub Vinegar
5 parts cold water
5 parts Moscato
3 parts peach nectar
Pour in glass over ice
Garnish with Lime and Orange Wheels

·Bring Me a Shrubbery!·
1/2 oz chai infused bourban*(Infuse 2T loose chai tea in 1 cup bourban. Strain.)
1 1/2 oz bourban
1/2 oz Cynar
1/2 oz Velvet Falernum
1/4 oz Mad Maiden Ginger Shrub
Grapefruit twist
Dash of simple syrup
Stir liquids together over ice. Strain into a cocktail glass. Finish with the twist.

Over ice:
1⁄2 oz gin
2 oz tart cherry juice
1 tsp Mad Maiden Ginger Shrub
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Graze · Fred & Ginger ·
Stir together over ice in a rocks glass:
4 oz strong black or herbal tea (such as chamomile hibiscus)
1⁄2 oz gin
1 tsp fresh lime juice
1 tsp honey
1 tsp Mad Maiden Ginger or Mixed Fruit Shrub

·Switchel (aka Haymaker's Punch)·
14 oz water
2 oz Honey Ginger Vinegar
Scant ½ teaspoon molasses
3 teaspoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
¼ cup oats (optional)
Mix.
Let sit overnight.
Strain oats out.
Serve.

·Chinese 5-Spice Cider·
*1 cup Spiced Cider (*Simmer 1 tsp Chinese 5 Spice Powder in 1 cup apple cider)
1 cup Pear juice
2 cups fizzy or still water
3 oz Honey-Ginger Drinking Vinegar
Mix.
Serve warmed or over ice.
